abstract painting in blue and yellow

Works by watercolor artist Dee Hoffman on display through June 30.

Artist's Statement
My work is a layering of inspired ideas and unconventional materials. They play off natural forms. I want to push the boundaries and articulate the unseen that hides in everyday life. I go into the woods and wander the trails to gain new perspectives. Vines jump out of trees and become lines that move into space. Sticks that overlay each other form bridges and barricades. Sometimes I find myself on unmarked terrain, without a map. Out of this uncertainty comes the promise of new possibilities and unanticipated outcomes.

I work in graphic design, paint in watercolor, and teach watercolor classes. I grew up in the Midwest and currently live in Aurora, Oregon. I have degrees in Visual Communications and Education. My work has been exhibited in the Midsouth and on the West Coast.
