Dedication of New Playground Equipment at Legacy Park

Mayor Thompson and Councilor Oliver dedicated the playground to the children of Canby, with most of the Park and Recreation Advisory Board looking on.

 

Plaque being given out

At the dedication, plaques of appreciation were given out to the Ray and Irene Burden family for their donation of all of the fabulous trees for the park, including a grove of magnolias that will become a small meditation garden in memory of Irene Burden who hybridized magnolias; a plaque to Herman Bergman of Kiwanis who single-handedly kept the new trees alive over the hot summer by faithfully watering them every week; a plaque thanking the Kiwanis Club for help and support; a plaque recognizing the MOMS club for their fundraising and support; and plaques recognizing the efforts of the Street Department crew, Park Department crew, and park planner Matilda Deas.
